A Giveaway For My 500th Post!!!!!!!

Yes, it truly is 500 posts!!! I can hardly believe it. I'm glad I noticed the counter actually. I think my 500th post deserves to be something special!

Firstly I want to say just how much I have enjoyed this blogging journey. It has been a wonderful creative outlet for me. I have learned a lot about myself, and have enjoyed recording the daily happenings of my life. Blogging is quick, it's easy, it's cheap, it's creative and it's fun! Not to mention a great way of keeping in touch with far-away family, and of making brand new like-minded friends. I appreciate all of you readers so much, I'd like to offer a little giveaway as a thank you for reading, writing, and for encouraging me!

As you know, I love to garden. I love to grow and pick and eat my own produce. I think everyone should grow something. Even if it's just a pot of herbs or a lavender bush. Maybe a fruit tree or two. Or maybe a veggie patch.

I pulled up these baby carrots this morning! Very tiny but they smell amazing. Thankfully there are more on the way. Lots is happening in my garden at the moment. Bunnings recently opened in my town and last week I bought a few punnets to plant into the veggie patch. Broccoli, herbs, lavender and a few plants for making herbal teas. The tomatoes and capsicums are doing well. I love to dig, to water, to watch plants bloom and grow. It's not always successful, but I always learn something new along the way.

So. I encourage you to leave a comment on my 500th post to let me know you're out there - any comment at all - and you will enter a gardening giveaway! I will draw a random winner next Sunday 25th April at 12pm. 3 packets of organic seed will be sent to the winner so you can start or add to your own growing adventure! :) If you are an Australian reader, the seeds will be ordered from Green Harvest; if you are overseas I will order from a distributor in your town.

I'm looking forward to sharing my love of gardening with you, and would love everyone to play along!!

Comment away!!

Saminda, you are such an inspiration. I don't know how you do it all, I must be really disorganised. I would love to get a vegie patch going up here in Bundy, but of course I haven't got around to that yet. I wouldn't be worrying about turning the big 30, you know you are only as old as you feel (I must admit, I feel it some days and I have 13 years on you). But keep going. You have such a lovely family and it is really great to see how they are growing up. I hadn't visited your blog before but I will surely be coming back from time to time. God bless you all and love to you all.

Congratulations on your 500th post! How exciting!

We got our chooks and they are settled, so now it's time to re-establish the poor old neglected vegie patch.

Glad you had a great Autumn break.

Congrats on 500 posts Saminda! I love my little vegie garden too, if only we had room for an orchard like yours, maybe if we buy that block up the road ;). Vic xx

5OO posts - wow. I still have to get to 100 but that is not too far away now. I'm so glad you found me Saminda and it has been wonderful to share so much with you even though we have not met. Just to know there is someone not too far away who thinks like me, who shares some of the same same passions and cherishes their home and family life. Thanks to you I was able to put together an awesome birth plan that was read and adhered to that gave me such a wonderful, positive experience of natural birth in hospital. So thank you. I'm looking forward to meeting you one day soon!

Wowsers! Congratulations on the milestone. It's been a pleasure getting to know you and your family through these little peeks into your life.
I actually pulled out all the crazy weeds in our little vegie patch over the weekend. You have inspired me to give it another go!

what a fun giveaway. I'm getting ready to plant my autumn/winter garden. And I just passed my 500th post too. Don't worry about turning 30. I'm coming up on 33 and still feel 24 (well, most of the time). Age is just a number it's how old you feel inside that counts.

Hey Saminda, I feel as if I have gotten to know you as a kindred spirit through your posts. You definitely inspire those who read it. Bless you, Amanda.

Yay, I am loving seeing your comments coming in! I love giveaways but have never run one on my blog before. It sure is fun. :)

Thank you too ladies for all your encouraging words. It certainly is wonderful to find kindred spirits out there through blogging........ even if blogs are only a 'glimpse' into each others lives. :) xo

So you've done better than me Min at this blogging lark ;-) Congratulations - always lovely to read what's happening with The Ferns. Well, 2010 was going to be the Year Of The Garden for us. Now we're up to April and with no sign of a sod turned in the yard, I'm now declaring the Year of the Garden as a fiscal rather than calendar year...hehe

I love reading all your posts! Our carrots are just 2 tiny leaves peaking through the dirt here on this side of the earth.
