One Short Day in the Emerald City...

We took a mini holiday over the weekend. Between piano teaching and open homes and cleaning and rehearsals, we drove to Brisbane to stay with my parents, and took our older two children to see their much-loved musical Wicked!!!

We dressed up in our theatre finery.
Donned our Emerald City glasses

Left a very content little William in the care of his Nanna and Grandpa....

And drove to the Lyric Theatre!

We have had these tickets booked for nearly a year, so the building of excitement and anticipation has been wonderful. Saraya couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the amazing sets.

I LOVED seeing this musical through the eyes of my children. And since we were able to secure seats in AA (second front) row, we could see every expression, every drop of sweat on the performers foreheads! It was like being part of a musical theatre master class. :)

Praise God for the privilege and opportunity to do this. It meant so much to us in the midst of a very busy, stressful few weeks.

It looks like you had great fun. I bet it was wonderful to see it with the kids.
I'm going to see Wicked in a couple of weeks for the first time. I'm looking forward to it.

That picture of you and Stuart is really lovely Saminda and I can see the excitement and anticipation written all over the faces of your children. And isn't it fabulous to get seats in the front rows? I have never forgotten the thrill of sitting in the front row of the theatre with my daughter for a Hayley Westenra concert - that was about 10 years ago. I can still remember buying the tickets at the music shop and seeing that A on the tickets - hope you kept the ticket stub - I still have mine - it is stapled to the artwork my daughter produced after our trip. You must get Saraya to do some drawings with all the memories still fresh in her mind!

What fun you had! I would love to go & see a theatre production again - I used to go at least once a year, but haven't for years now!
Love the pictures - you are so beautiful Saminda!
