"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13
Our pastor preached on this powerful verse this morning. Hallelujah!! Say it to yourself: it is powerful!!! This is going to be my verse for the week ahead.
Singing with James in church this morning was a great time. I felt God's presence touching each one of us in His house.
Stuart blessed me with a couple of child-free hours this afternoon, and I feel SO refreshed! I went to McCafe (it was open, and more importantly air-conditioned) for an iced mocha, and poured over my diary planning things for the weeks ahead of us. I also thought. And dreamed.
When I got home, I made this: A raspberry malteser ice-cream cake! It's for our Australia Day bbq tomorrow; it was REALLY easy and seems to have turned out well. Let me know if you'd like the recipe!
Sundays are eggs on toast night, so it was an easy tea. I *embellished* it with a few strips of free range bacon, tiny tomatoes from the garden, and snippets of chives. The children had passionfruit and chopped apple for dessert. Ah, the sweetness of a simple summer meal!
Bless you in the week ahead. May you know the peace that comes from leaning on Christ, who loves us!

Hi Saminda! Thanks for the reminder and challenge of this verse. I'm also printing off the 7 day prayer for our kids and am going to start tomorrow. One entire week before my first daughter starts school - it will be a very special time! Hope you have a good week - how lovely to start it with a few hours to yourself!
I love that verse - I remember saying it over & over when I was in hospital with the twins when we weren't sure if we were loosing them & had to have surgery...
I would love that recipe - icecream is my favourite food & combine it with maltesers YUM! Glad you could have some time to yourself. Hope you're enjoying your Australia day!!
That verse is so powerful - thank you for sharing!
I know the feeling you're talking about with a few child-free hours... I felt that for about an hour and a half yesterday. I'm going to raise my hand and ask for the recipe, because it sounds amazing! I love reading about your life, it's always so inspiring. Thanks for sharing with this frozen Alaskan girl.
May He richly bless you this week and in the coming days.
